I recently started a new job and was given a new business iPhone. While trying to set up my work email on the iPhone, I encountered just about every problem you could imagine. Sometimes I could receive email but not send it and other times I could not do either. I tried just about every combination of pop and IMAP settings I could think of.
After many weeks and much frustration trying to set up my Bell Aliant Business Email, I finally got someone from Bell Aliant on the phone who knew what they were talking about.
Below are the correct settings for setting up your Bell Aliant Business Email on your iPhone.
Name: Your Name
Email: Your Email Address
Description: (optional) What ever you want to call your email account.
INCOMING:
- hostname: pop.bellaliant.com
- username: you@somedomain.com (your email address)
- password: Your Password
OUTGOING:
- server: ON
- hostname: smtpa.bellaliant.net
- username: you@somedomain.com (your email address)
- password: Your Password
- use SSL: OFF
- authentication: password
- server sort: 2225
These are the settings that worked for me and they continue to work as of this writing. If these settings are still here then they are still working. If at some point the email on my iPhone stops working I will update this webpage accordingly.
